New Yorker piece is worth reading because it counterbalances the misleading elegies that made Jobs out to be a protean creator like da Vinci or Edison.
In brief:
Jobs’s sensibility was editorial, not inventive.
But to get a feeling for what that actually means, you'll have to read Gladwell's article for yourself.
