The Texas Monthly has a short profile of Sandy Wood, who has been the voice of the syndicated StarDate program for twenty years. I hear the program on the local newsradio station, and it's always a bit odd, though not unwelcome, to hear what the article calls Wood's "almost otherworldly voice" breaking into the run of the station's crisp, forceful anchors and reporters.
